I'm more of a Dubbel or Quad fan than a Tripel, but man this is a great beer! I'll still reach for a Carolus Classic first, but this will definitely be in the rotation! Also posting a note in NV as haven't decided if it wouldn't be better just to have NV when it comes to beer. Vintage certainly helps w/ drinking window, but kinda like the idea of all the tasting notes together...

February 7, 2014 - Pours a nice foam. Colour is light orange.
Nose is yeasty, fesh orange, "skumbanan",

Palate. Yeast, alcohol, earthy, medium bitternes

    Probably needs more time.

September 28, 2013 - Cloudy, almost dirty yellow color with a big, foamy and persistent white head. Pronounced estery aromas of banana and bubblegum, some apple juice, a little tropical fruit, a hint of citrus rind and a touch of wheat tartness in the nose. The flavors repeat the elements of the nose with somewhat noticeable sugary and alcoholic sweetness. There are also flavors of peach-driven yellow fruit, some aromatic herbal notes and moderate hoppy bitterness. Alcohol (9,5%) punches through somewhat. Yet still, even though the beer is full-bodied, high in alcohol and even somewhat sweet, it is still surprisingly fresh and very balanced. The finish is refreshingly malt-forward with flavors of peach, citrus fruits, some wheat tartness, a little herbal bitterness and a touch of banana esters. Alcohol feels more pronounced towards the end of the aftertaste.

A well-made Tripel that is remarkably refreshing and easy-drinking in style, despite its full body, high alcohol and somewhat noticeable freshness. This is thanks to the great balance between the sweetness, slightly tart wheat character and balancing hop bitterness. A clasic example of the style and a good purchase at 3,99€ for a 33 cl bottle.
