Community Tasting Notes 1

December 5, 2012 - Nicely aged, drinking perfectly now. The nose is decidedly a notch down from a grand cru, but still layered and complex with notes of cherries, earth, leather, sandlewood, and some of that nice barnyard funk. The palate is full and lush, with slightly overripe fruit and well integrated tannins, and the finish is medium in length. This is a wine that, for the cost, has a reach that's far exceeded it's grasp. Still drinking well and will do so for a few more years at least. I'm down to one bottle now. Wish I had more!
