Community Tasting Notes 2

June 17, 2013 - Popped the cork and tasted immediately. A little faint and earthy on the nose. Beautiful fruit still present. Soft and luscious in the mouth. Long complex finish. Delightful.

December 30, 2006 - Upon opening, was surprisingly "big" and notably acidic rather than the usual silkiness characterisic of this house. Re-stoppered and tasted 18 hours later: bricky red maturity and clear at rim; spicy though mature nose of red fruit pinot with the leafy classic smells of aged burgundy. Good solid fruit on palate with tannin and acid better integrated than on opening; texture and length superb at this point. Tasting RR's 1er cru at this stage helps me understand how such (in general) feminine styled wines can last for decades. Surely the most under-rated producer in burgundy.
