    March 29, 2024 - This was one of the best wines I have ever had from Pacalet. I am normally not a fan of his style. On the news, it was almost Rayas-like with strawberries, thyme and inner sweetness. On the pallet, it is all about elegance and sweetness. Almost opulent in its fruitiness and softness. Very few tannins left.

    July 10, 2021 - I tried this 5-6 years ago and bought a bottle because it showed a side of Chambertin I had never seen.

    Very elegant. The budding violet aromas I nosed when I first tried it were fully open now. Fresh mint, and forest fruits.

    The palate had such tender fruit. It is something I always associate with pacalet’s wines. Soft easygoing tannins and a tart finish. So still quite young but is out of its shell.

    Really impressive, hope to find another bottle down the road.

    June 5, 2021 - Poured out a glass and allowed 2 hours slow-ox in bottle. Fruity bouquet with some herbs and mineral touches. 1er level at most palate with flat structure and disappointing texture. Lack good complexity for bigger stage. 92 for aroma, 89 for palate.

    December 25, 2018 - Robé rubis foncé;
    Nez explosif de fruits rouges, canneberges et notes épicés.
    Fruité mur au nez et en bouche avec belle rondeur et cette finale droite et longue typique du terroir.

    February 3, 2017 - Greatest red Burgundy - Wine tasting dinner (Rest FB (kg arr.)): 4 flights tasted:
    1. Chambolle Musigny: Denis Mortet 1. cru Aux Beaux Bruns '10 (classical Chambolle, light, elegant, perfect aromas and balance 93-94/100) against Vogué Le Musigny vielles vignes '06 (much more intensity, liquorice and too many tannins - in other words much too young, 91/100)
    2. Gevrey-Chambertin: Philippe Pacalet Ruchotte-Chambertin '11 (close to natural wine, a lot of fruit, liquorice, definitely not a typical Bourgogne, 93/100) against Armand Rousseau Le Chambertin '11 (develops positively in the glass, high acidity, fantastic flavours, still very young, never the less I rated i 95/100 based on performance right now, which means it is the winner of this tasting)
    3. Vosne Romanee: DRC Richebourg '09 (way too young, very closed and too many tannins, however still a good glass of wine 93/100) against DRC La Täche '09 (deeper colour, even mores closed, more tannin and higher intensity both on the nose and palate - should have waited another 10 years or more, 93/100)
    4. Sauternes: Yquem '01 (unbelievable good wine on the nose and palate, extremely good balance - so far the best Sauternes I have ever tasted, It It is not getting better than it is now, just changing towards too many tertiary notes like the 1990. I certainly disagree with Wine Advocate which states drinking window to begin 2030, 98-99/100) against Yquem '90 (Rated 99 by RP - because of the age it is much too oxidative for me (sherry like), almost amber colour, the '01 is so much better 88/100)
