  August 11, 2015 - Needed a spanish wine with home cooked paella - found this from the "cooking wine" pile. Performed particularly good. Being at this price point, its not refined, but has most of the goods. Nice fruit aromas with some floral in it, tasted sour cherry to start, with some backend sweetness, subtle tannin / oak, with a little spicy med+ length finish. I don't classified as jammy or juicy red (and I don't prefer the sterotypical napa style fruit bomb ). Fantastic QPR @ C$12. Will buy again

  M ruby. Elevated alcohol. 14%?[13.5] Elevated acid. A fleshiness to this, and a bit of sweetness—I wouldn't be surprised if there were a tiny bit of RS, maybe 1.5-2g/L. Some well-integrated moderate intensity oak influences [4 months in new French barriques], and light papery tannins. Nice and simple! jammy red fruit. For $6, this is ridiculous.
  
  Went weirdly well with Tom Kha Gai.
