Community Tasting Notes 5

July 20, 2016 - Drinking very well at this stage. Deep cherry and plum on nose and front of palate, with savoury earthy notes developing in the mid and back palate.

Enjoyed another bottle in November 2016. Much as described above. What a shame Voss are no longer in business. This has been great wine at the price over the years!

And again in 2019. Still 90 points. Superb.

April 17, 2014 - Nose: spicy with pepper and a fair amount of red fruit, predominantly cherry.
Taste: good, intense attack with a lot of red fruit and a good, refreshing acid, some warmth and just a hint of bitterness in the finish. I had it with a Spaghetti carbonara.

April 13, 2014 - Ripe characters of red fruit, big body for a Pinot Noir, peppery hints, fine grained tannins of a soft nature. Not enough acidity, feels a bit boring. Balanced characters and soft mouth-feel however.

January 24, 2014 - Was looking for a Pinot to chicken and was surprised with this wine. Exiting and very different for a Pinot. The nose is very southern warm. Almost like burnt herbs, especially Thyme together with the berrys and fudge, but not in a tacky way. I can't really desribe the taste better than the previous note. Goat cheese? Yes, a little bit. A little bit or rubber. But it's kind of bitter. Yes, a little to much acid and sweetness. I must say though that this is a very exciting wine. Tried it with my wife a friday together with a chicken dish. It sort of took over, but still I like it. A little bit pricy for the exprerience.
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like red currant, blueberry, cranberry, fig, apricot, violet, rose, tobacco, hay/straw, thyme, oregano, eucalyptus, asparagus and raspberry. It tastes like raspberry, blackberry, black currant (cassis), grapefruit, passion fruit, mushroom, black pepper, hay/straw and cut green grass. The body is medium/full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity.

October 14, 2013 - Strange color onb this, dark red/violet, not at al pinot is style. The nose even stranger, Sour red berries, lots of acidity, sulphur and herbs. Taste is high acidity, red currant, cherry and cranberry with a white pepper heat on the back end. A sting och back of the tounge at the end that remind me of chardonnay acid. Dry, light but stil, is this a pinot? A bit awkward with the heat and bitterness at the end.
