April 27, 2024 - Popped and poured. Shy nose. The palate is delicious. Full bodied, open knit but good acidity and not over the hill. Lemon rind, orange peel, a little oak. Nice finish. Drink up over the next five years.

December 22, 2023 - Double decanted for a brief aeration before bringing to a local BYOB restaurant, Matt’s Red Rooster Grille in Flemington, NJ. This wine was delicious with several delicious dishes, including fresh Wellfleet oysters, grilled calamari and sautéed sea scallops. The wine is a bright slightly golden yellow. The nose is remarkably fresh, clean and delineated, showing light white florals, slight herbal/tarragon notes, hints of caramel, grilled peach, ripe pear and lemon curd. The palate is lusciously smooth with very bright acidity and a smooth chewy yet crystaline texture. Remarkable depth and a very long saline and burnt marshmallow finish. The other flavors are a reflection of the nose. Clearly aged and mature but not oxidized enough to interfere with the enjoyment of the wine’s layers of flavor. Absolutely delicious and a really miraculous 26 year old wine acquired 2 1/2 years ago, I believe on a recent release.

December 14, 2023 - Popped and poured. Better bottle than the last. Early maturity. Floral with a touch of cut grass and sea salt in the nose. Full bodied, concentrated and fresh. Lemon rind, orchard fruit. Long finish. Excellent.

December 2, 2023 - Day 1: First pour indicated this was in really good shape. Decanted with the expectation that this would add depth with air -- it did not. Moderate/aromas of lemon and butterscotch, with low-moderate acidity. Enjoyable, but not the wow experience I had with the 1995. This was shipped two weeks prior to consumption, which may have negatively affected the bottle. Left 1/2 glass in the decanter overnight.
Day 2: showed the same as 24 hours prior. Seems at peak, or just slightly past it with no rush to drink.

September 10, 2023 - Needs 30 min air. Medium gold. Fully mature but not over the hill. Ripe apple, citrus, almonds, a little biscuit. Medium to full bodied. Nice complexity but don’t think it gets better.
