June 18, 2017 - Really nice. Honey very prominent. Nice balance. Would try again. Rich mouthfeel.

February 25, 2017 - This is what I would describe as a winter Chardonnay. Born on the northern slopes of mount Aetna, it draws a drastic contrast to California Chardonnay. It is greenish-golden in color, rather mute on the nose, yet super-rich, with a warm, almost oily, midpalate, ripe with apple bananas on a nutty background, balanced with abundant minerals wrapped in bold acidity, and just the right amount of oak to meld it all together. Finish is medium, but enjoyable.
Pairs well with meaty white fish, hearty white pasta dishes and poultry.

June 14, 2014 - My last note on this was about three months ago - color in the glass is similar to the I Sistri; nice "briskness" on the nose, but fairly reticent fruit.

Also lighter-bodied for a Chard, although there appears to be more here in terms of flavor/palate interest. Nice finish as well. Neither wine is the "be all/end all" when it comes to complexity, but side-by-side tonight I have a clear preference for the Guardiola. Better acidity on this wine as well to keep things lively.

March 22, 2014 - I tried a bottle of this right before the Holidays, and decided to grab 6 more.

Light yellow/gold in the glass, with a nice nose, almost briny like a Chablis, with ripe white fruits.

Nicely delineated on the palate, albeit not the most complex Chardonnay you'll ever drink. I see that Ian D'Agata gave this 89 points in the last IWC - that's probably about right; it's very tasty, yet not enough "oomph" to truly be outstanding. But quite enjoyable on a Spring-like Saturday afternoon!

December 23, 2013 - Light yellow-gold in the glass; nice minerality to the nose, almost a chablis-like briskness, with apples only hinted at in the background.

Taut and precise, nice acidity, sweet/ripe fruit on the mid-palate, thirst-quenching. I had the 2011 version of this wine several weeks ago, and I definitely prefer this vintage. With the exception of Cervaro della Sala, perhaps the best Italian Chardonnay I've ever tasted.
