  February 5, 2016 - Not decanted, consumed over ~1 1/2 hours. Dark red in the glass, maybe just a hint of bricking. Dark berry/cherry notes and a little bit of char/cocoa on the nose. On the palate, similar notes with moderate structure, showing rich (but not candied) dark fruit and a little oak, leaving a finish reminiscent of blackberry pie. Maybe a bit anonymous and not as spicy/brambly as the zins I most prefer, but this was pretty good overall.

  August 9, 2014 - Clear garnet. Tobacco, chocolate, menthol, cinnamon. Low acids, no tannins. Blackberry jam, plum. Medium low balanced finish.

  July 19, 2014 - We really liked this inexpensive zin! Color: Deep, opaque red, ruby. Legs: Sturdy, long-lasting. Nose: Fruit-forward, red, dark plumb & blackberry; hint of tobacco. Mouth feel: Very full, round. Taste: Very dark red fruit, plummy and dark, ripe berries. Palate: Mid-palate - wonderfully dry and a bit sharp; back - "a bit of a bite"; peppery. Finish: Smooth & fruity, then dry, oaky. Very good structure.
