October 19, 2018 - Dark, deep wine. Black licorice, tar, black fruit dense. This wine is deeper and darker than most I have had. This is a dense, full bodied wine. Pours like motor oil into the glass. I cannot believe that I saw a 90 around here for this wine. Maybe they're confusing the score for the price they paid for this wine? This wine is a 93 upon CORK POP. Perhaps quite capable of more, this wine was murdered about 3-4 years before being at the top of the hill. Good acidity on the finish. Nice blackberry that was rich on the finish. This wine deserves a good steak, which I did not give it, and a lot of fatty foods which I also did not give it. Combo of Coombsville and Calistoga grapes. Look to see this developing another few years.
