    December 2, 2022 - It’s alive!

Well that was a pleasant surprise. Purchased on a whim from WineBid and this delivered an abundant package of joy. Balanced mature fruit with just the right bit of tertiary to remind you of the vintage year, but also clearly present fruit and mild tannins. So so so good. I’ve yet to find a high quality aged zin from sonoma or napa that has not been somewhere between very good and spectacular.

January 1, 2006 - Light to med ruby, milky, aromas of jammy red fruit, pepper, b3, a3, t2, soft & round on palate, nice, firm acidity, good sweet/tart fruit, very nice, spicy plum, leather, d2, nice!

January 4, 2004 - Med ruby, slightly cloudy, aromas of funk, tart blackberry, charred wood, earth, alcohol, meat, smoke, b2+, a2+, t3, funky at first, then blows off, decent mouth coating fruit, tannins, a touch harsh, not bad, bit hot, d2, oaky but w/some decent sharp fruit passable (4)

November 3, 2003 - Med ruby, touch cloudy, aromas fo blackberry, charred oak, sulphur, minerals, earth, beef blood, licorice, smoke, tar, crème brulee, b3, a3, t3+, fruit & dark spicy elements on palate, drying med tannins balance tart fruit, touch of bitterness from charred oak, taut & somewhat sharp from mid-palate to finish yet still juicy, nice, a bit more astringent w/air, almost a vinegar (acetic acid) component, still good

January 3, 2003 - Med blackish ruby, aromas of charred oak, flint, funk, very faint dark berry, b1+, a1, t1, thin & flabby, almost no fruit, bitter oak water, slightly corked?, w/air, too much oak, thin & harsh, very little fruit, day 2, tad more fruit, alcoholic & oaky, b2, a3, t3, more structure (3+)
