January 18, 2015 - drank as an aperatif. Soft and floral. Rose pedals in abundance. Really nice without food.

January 3, 2015 - Wild bouquet of fruit and perfume? Interesting flavor, light bodied and drinks OK, not sure how much I could drink; only had a small taste at the WL.

November 16, 2014 - Let's start with the fact this is definitely not a 95+ wine as one critic and one retailer promoted it. Pleasant and slightly different Italian red with wild berries and some medicinal properties on nose that continued through finish. Medium- bodied wine that pairs with broad range of foods. Aging may help but i dont think so as freshness seems to be one of it's prime virtues. 89

September 19, 2014 - I'm no fan of appassimento wines, but I rather like Ruché. That said I would have preferred a proper Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato. Especially since Montalbera produces a Tradizione version as well. But this is what we have in the monopoly and so be it.

This appassimento style Ruché did anyhow have some nice varietal aromas and character altough it was a bit sugary and intentionally overripe. Perfumy with peppery accents, some bitter bite as well. Not a bad wine at all. A very good appassimento. A decent Ruché.
