June 17, 2021 - Our bottles of this RRV wine have matured beautifully. Still dark red, needed a little open air time (30-60 minutes) to open up to dark cherry and plum fruit. Medium weight on palate, luscious earthy fruit. Everything in balance and finished smoothly. Guess its time to try out our single vineyard versions.

March 20, 2021 - Wasn't expecting much, given its age and modest pedigree. But, it was quite luscious. Slight bricking on the color. Glyceriney with full forward mellowing fruit. Deep plum and cherry. Packs a bit of an alcohol bite. All in all, still maturing nicely. I've two more. May not get better, but I don't feel rushed to consume.

The fruit had faded a bit, which made the alcohol a bit more prominent, but overall not bad. Sour cherry and some spice on the palate. There was also some funk on the finish. It wasn't bothersome or even that noticeable at first, but became more prominent over a couple of hours. By the second night, had become too much and I poured the rest of the bottle out. Those who love aged pinot noir might have been okay with this, but not what I enjoy in Russian River PN.
