Community Tasting Notes 7

May 3, 2015 - Perhaps suffering in comparison to the 2012 MacPhail Dutton Ranch, this seemed a tad thin. Light cranberry in the glass, with fragrant cranberry and strawberry. Delicate and graceful, all of which is good, with nice weight. A touch short and perhaps tart for my taste, at least in comparison to the much bolder MacPhail.

November 2, 2014 - Nice light pinot. Restrained in style with raspberry flavors

September 18, 2014 - I disagree with many of the comments below. This is a fantastic wine for $28. Elegant and light. Bright acidity, a little herbal, and yummy red fruits.

I think this is also very much in the Brick House style, and demonstrates why OR Pinot is so delicious. It's light and utterly powerful. Make no mistake that this is the low end of Doug's portfolio and drinks as such, but the comments about it being thin, watery and a step above rosé have completely missed the point of this wine. Go drink Cab or Syrah if you're looking for power, not Pinot - especially not OR Pinot. This is about subtlety. What Flight of the Conchords is to comedy, this is to wine.

September 14, 2014 - Opened last night and had a couple of glasses, finished it off tonight. Not significant change. Basically nothing on the nose. The palate has some red berry, really just cranberry. Very thin.

January 12, 2014 - Wife accidently opened before ready to drink. Sharp nose initially that opened up to bright fruit that was held in check by significant acidity. Looking forward trying in a couple of years.
