December 28, 2023 - Far better than last bottle with notes of dried leaves, some cherry and licorice, moss, pencil lead, old leather, hay and iron. Rather light to medium bodied and not the greatest depth at this stage. With however good structure and balance. Again very mature but also very enjoyable with mature cheese

December 2, 2023 - Mouldy and soaked cork, which not necessarily is an issue. But this bottle seemed too advanced and had a strong smell/taste of dust and brett, that did not dissipate within 2 days. I had quite a few bottles of Soutard from 82 and 89, which were in pristine condition. So I take this bottle without a word of protest

October 21, 2022 - Popped and poured. Cork was soaked, needed the Durand to get it out. At first I thought this might be corked, but the "off" aromas blew off after a bit. Dark color, full brown at the rim, still showing some viscosity. Secondary aromas dominate the bouquet: autumn leaves, leather, amber. Attractive in the mouth, with rich, burnished, savory flavors, showing off suave fruit and good complexity with nice nuance readily apprarent from first swallow. Sweet tobacco, a touch of shoe polish, and briar notes. Very elegant and polished on the finish. An unheralded Chateau (at least to me), it has produced a fine Bordeaux in my daughter's excellent birth year. What an evolution from PNP after only about a half an hour! 5-12-17-8: 92/100.

    September 11, 2022 - PnP from magnum.
Red fruit, wet earth, a touch of dried green spices and tobacco.
On the palate this is solid. Medium body, medium acid and a light chalky tannin. The fruit is holding on but I wouldn’t wait any longer to enjoy this.
    Great bottle!

January 6, 2022 - Drank this wine the night following a Pichon Lalande 1990. What I can say is this wine is as good as the Pichon after 32 years of age and for the price this was sold at in the early 90's it was a steal. Regret of not purchasing a case or so. Superb wine in its peak. Excellent length, forest floor, wet earth, humus this smells so good. One more bottle left, will open in 5 years. If you find this wine at an auction at a reasonable price with good ullage, buy and buy all you can get, then call me and I will buy from you.
