April 6, 2024 - Wow has this evolved. Tannins are integrated and it is light and airy but with a surprising backbone. Lights up the palate.

May 21, 2023 - Delicious balance of dark fruits and tannins. Ready to drink but with a long life still ahead.

April 22, 2023 - Drank alongside ‘08, ‘11, ‘12, and ‘13 Garblet Sue. Open, delicate, and ready to drink. Silky and nice.

April 6, 2023 - Brought to a Seder because I thought my Barolo loving friend would be there, but he was a late scratch. Glad I have another that can be shared in a more contemplative environment. This is certainly fine now, and probably would have benefited by a decant since it improved over the evening, and definitely deserved better wine glasses. (Our hosts are lovely people, but use heavy cut crystal glasses that don't capture any subtle aromas.) Seems to touch all the bases I remember from my visit in 2014, when this was the wine of the trip (within my budget--a 2006 Ca d'Morrissio poured by Mauro was otherworldly). The next bottle gets an evening built around it, and no rush.

September 30, 2022 - Opened and let breathe for an hour. No decant. Aromas of licorice, fine dirt, stewed prunes, and roasted green peppers. An absolute dynamo on the palate. It coats the tongue and mouth and just makes you want to talk and smile. Very ready to drink and enjoy. Paired with seafood fra diavolo.
