June 9, 2022 - Herbal, green capsium, cassis and cigar box on the nose, with cassis, bay leaf, milk chocolate and spices on the palate. Well balanced. Slight grippiness, not the most complex Chinon but delicious nonetheless.

  • Julian Marshall Likes this wine: 92 points

June 7, 2021 - Red cherries, herbs and wild strawberry on the nose, then quite a chunky mouthful of blackberry, before the elegance takes over and the wine moves into a creamy, soft middle section of light raspberry, nuanced with wild strawberry and blackberry, the red cherries coming back in the finish. Still quite young, it needs another few years, but very Margalais in style, understated and subtle.

January 26, 2021 - 92 Rubí brillante, capa media. Nariz floral, violetas, cereza picota. En boca es soberbio, delicado, fino, largo. Con muy buena acidez y un tanino muy fino. En su punto, maduro, muy serio. Estupendo vino.

  • Guillaume-en-égypte Likes this wine: 92 points

October 6, 2020 - Agree with other recent tasting notes that this is drinking very well at the moment, and I would guess at peak or thereabouts (edit: the domaine recommends 2019 - 2024, so may improve further) . A very pleasant surprise and a very significant improvement to a bottle I had a few years back which seemed rather ordinary.

  • Macman77 Likes this wine: 93 points

August 8, 2020 - Perfect condition close to its peak. Typical nose with green pepper, cassis, herbal tones and raw meat
Raspberries and cassis in the palate together with lead pencil, bay leaf and dark chocolate.
