July 12, 2015 - Gently decanted before dinner to take it off the sediment. Opaque garnet color. I have a sentimental soft spot for this wine as I had a wonderful experience at the winery many years ago, and shared a bottle with my wife on our first date. This wears the hot vintage well & shows some bigger fruit forward qualities, but no roasted or stewed notes one finds on many European wines from 2003. This is showing round edges on a medium body. Secondary notes come in waves across the red fruit. Menthol, clove & tobacco. The tannins are still present, but are beginning to take on a silkiness which makes this a pleasure to drink.
Something I really enjoyed was that this began to show an almost aged Burgundy character. Once opened, the fruit began to show a sappy, rich character with tiny bursts of savory nuance. A lovely pair with some sockeye salmon from the grill. -

August 14, 2011 - Slow ox'd around an hour with two short glasses poured out. Opaque maroon. The nose was reductive at first. It blew off very quickly to reveal some tart cherry along with some balsamic notes. Medium bodied, this is integrated and likely at the alex right now. Trademark Cab Franc tart cherry, but pleasantly lacking severe green notes. Very soft as tannins are integrated, but the fruit is still a bit showy (noting the vintage?), so it makes for a pleasant, but simple drink. Medium finish. This definitely picks up weight in the glass with air and becomes a bit more enjoyable as it progresses.

June 2, 2007 - Pleasant bouquet of ripe cherries. Soft cherry fruit in the taste and soft tannin. Very pleasant drinking without any real complexity.

December 2, 2006 - 100 percent Cabernet Franc. Dark crimson color. Red licorice and crushed black cherries with a touch of earth on the nose. Flavors of dark fruits with spice and a nice finish. Good to drink now but will also age well for a few more years.
