January 31, 2017 - Seemingly 2D on the front, but the middle and back tell a fine tale of the life of the vine.

October 24, 2015 - Tasted fairly advanced for a 6 year old wine, but also was standing up on a shelf at a beer/liquor/wine shop in an arid climate at room temperature. So hard to draw a hard conclusion, though I had a positive impression. Mostly cedar and reticent cherry fruit aromas, not herbaceous at all. Pleasant red fruited entry, linear mid-palate, mildly tannic and oaked finish. Acid is nicely integrated, and gives a solid backbone. Kind of reminded me of a Nebbiolo made in a less reductive style, oddly enough. I'd definitely be interested in tasting a younger/better stored iteration of this wine, though I don't think this was heat exposed or aggressively oxidized.

November 14, 2014 - This Santa Cruz Mountains (i.e., cooler appellation) wine is medium ruby in the glass offering aromas and flavors of pronounced oak, and muted blackberry and cherry. It has a tannic backbone, but is sufficiently integrated that I would imbibe it now rather than waiting for it to improve in the cellar. This is a medium-bodied, complex example of the varietal, which pairs remarkably well with pizza, or more refined Italian dishes. Addendum, it also has only the faintest hint of vegetal or green pepper notes commonly encountered in other Cab Franc-based wines. Multiple bottles tasted with consistent notes. At about $30 per bottle, the wine has a very good QPR.

August 9, 2014 - I purchased a single bottle upon the local wine shop's recommendation and that was a mistake. I should have purchased many bottles. This is very ripe but not overly fruity. There are nice flavors of berries but I really enjoy the green element of this wine. Paired wonderfully with a brined pork chop at Mom's diner.
