Community Tasting Notes 22

January 3, 2024 - Fully mature, or perhaps slightly beyond that. Well formed, but starting to fade on the nose. Slightly hard to distinguish individual notes as it's in quite a harmonious place, slightly earthy, some pepper and lightly roasted meat, still a bit of dark berry fruit. The palate is the best part, really quite rich and succulent with great texture. Held up OK on day two but best on first day.

December 24, 2023 - Open in the bottle for about an hour. Nose is old library book, slight barnyard, black fruits. Palate is a little thin but good acidity, cherries, tannins are still present but it feels a little disjointed. Maybe it needs more time, or maybe it’s past its prime.

    November 15, 2023 - Past prime.

Mostly tertiary on nose and palate. Acid was high though. Interesting example of a fully developed wine.

October 31, 2014 - Gamey, meaty nose with red fruit undertones supporting. Red fruit predominant with a brambly backbone. Medium acid, the mid-palate of pure driven red cherry and chalky blackberry. This started out very muted and one-dimensional but after a few hours of air, really came around.

April 24, 2012 - Has taken on more weight. Classic Syrah notes of meat, green paprika, ground pepper and thyme. Good weight but not heavy. OK balance and finish. Not complex but decent northern Rhone for the money.
