March 29, 2024 - A great bottle; decanted four hours in advance. Not as Californicated as I expected from this vintage but nonetheless fleshy, forward and appealing--by far the most popular with my guests (as expected).

May 21, 2023 - Decanted for two hours. Red fruit, cherry, black currant, plum, light bell pepper, cedar box, tobacco, and spices, with good, medium-level acidity, well integrated tannin, and good length. Only 13% ABV. Good balance and good freshness (in particular in the context of the vintage). Continued to improve with extended aeration, and the last glass after six hours drank best. Drink now, and over the next ten years, depending on your preference.

As suggested by the score, outstanding. Fruit quite present and balanced with good acidity.
I recall a big stir about the '03 vintage. If I recall properly, some thought it to be too hot.
It might be my imagination, but I may have caught some of that in this bottle.
Decanted, which seemed to help a little.
Wine did not fade through the bottle.
Drink up, but don't panic. -
