  Still aromatically reminiscent of the Rocks, though it is definitely heading into tertiary notes and losing fruit vibrancy with the herbal aspect coming to the forefront.
  
  Texturally, the tannins are fully resolved, leaving a smooth approach to dark fruits, herbal notes that trend toward sous bois, and a protracted finish with hints of tarragon and licorice.
  
  Moving away from its primary window, the wine should be enjoyed in the near term for fading vibrancy or held for further tertiary development.

  September 18, 2021 - Day one was fantastic. Similar to my earlier notes, still every bit a Syrah that seems reflective of “the Rocks“ terroir. A bit gamey, a bit funky, streaks of mineral and blood running through the blue and black dark fruit tones. While the fruit is rich, it is certainly not over extracted or overripe. Still has acid and the tannins are mostly all resolved at this point.
  Day 2, no gas, tastes even softer, but it hasn’t fallen apart yet. One bottle left from the original case and I’d guess there is still a couple of robust years left before the fruit starts to segue. That said, I’d probably drink this over the next year- before the end of 2022.
