March 1, 2024 - Intaktes Rubin, praktisch keine Alterstöne. Sehr mineralisch geprägte Nase, dunkle Kirschen, Rhabarber, Asche, Johannisbeeren, zeigt Tiefe, braucht Luft.

February 13, 2019 - Scotty Shears Blind Pinot Parade (Shear's Grotto): Double blind wine #2, totally different nose than wine #1. Very subtle/tight nose with notes of strawberry, faint graham cracker and a touch of eucalyptus. Noticeable tannin on the palate. I correctly guessed this as my wine. This wine is a baby and will benefit from time in the bottle. This should have a long life, but 91 for now.

December 4, 2018 - Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Pommard (The Fat Butcher, Stellenbosch): (Tasted Blind): A light+ ruby colour with an orange rim. Fresh and youthful, with cherry cola with dried tarragon, mineral and rhubarb notes suggesting stem inclusion.
A vibrant entry with earthier tones, musk sweets, dried fruits, and coriander seeds. Firmly textured with chalky undertones, the tannins build to form more puckering notes on the back palate. Becomes a little foursquare for a Burgundy, with a hot cayenne pepper spike on the finish. However, whilst it lacks length and at times feels hard work and more than a little challenging it was still a fair example of Pommard with its more powerful frame and more black cherry, redcurrants and crushed stone quality. Will improve.

November 22, 2017 - Tried this out of curiosity. 1h decant. Closed initially, brooding structure, great gamey, musky, dark fruit, earthy scents in the background. Demanding tannins but not drying, good freshness. Excellent material, in 2025 you will sure have a great Pommard in your hands. Wait. Attractive QPR.
