January 2, 2024 - Modest nose of spring flowers, creosote, charred oak, vanilla and blue and blackberry. Full-bodied, this is a bit rugged with a nice tannic structure and bright acidity. Blueberries and hot gravel on the palate. This is a bit underwhelming, but good nonetheless. I expected more. Drink now -2028 91

May 6, 2022 - Decanted just before dinner, required a while to show its beauty. Had recently my last bottle from the 09 vintage and decided not to buy another, but this is much better and brings me into a dilemma. Still huge and powerful, dark fruited, but not jammy, shows even some elegance and good freshness. In the background there is a hint of funk, not much but it makes it really interesting, the finish is very long.
Still quite youthful, if drinking it now, give it enough air, else there is no hurry, it will easily survive another 10 to 15 years, seems as 2011 was really one of the best vintage in the nearest past. -

October 31, 2021 - wow really interesting...dark, brooding, integrated....deep cherry, blueberries, spice, slight tart mid palate that makes this interesting. Always amazed at the quality of Portuguese still wines.

November 19, 2020 - Great Douro red. Has rich fruit, earth and long smooth finish. This is a very good wine
