March 10, 2019 - Golden yellow in the glass. Aromas here are very simple - some stone fruit, some green fruit and a touch of lees. Nothing crazy. It's evident that the wine is past its prime in 2019 even when the salesperson tried to sell this to me by stating that "they kept this vintage for so long because they believe this is Petradolce's best one". Never trust a 50% off sales in an Italian wine shop.

February 7, 2017 - Pop and poured. Drank over 1.5 hours at B&B PP.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of white flowers, straw/hay, stony minerality. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of honey, green olives, straw/hay, hot stony minerality, ?ash, citrus lime, guava, grapefruit. Bitter almond towards the medium finish.
Good quality. Flavour profile dominated by the minerality with the fruit supporting underneath. Good example of Carricante. Drink up.

June 16, 2016 - No formal notes. But I recall it to be very good. Excellent ripe lemon fruit balanced by sound minerality. I think MAA65 got some good points in the assessment.

January 11, 2016 - Terroir-istes International - Italy, Sicily, Etna & Outliers (Groot Constantia): (Tasted Blind): Light straw lemon in colour; the nose shows some wood and savoury notes, touching on yeast extract and lees. A mineral entry with some peach notes, not unlike a Chardonnay, also has some richer, slightly saggy oxidative characteristics (or more aldehydic. It's a little rustic perhaps, warmer yet has concentration. Vines are between 100 and 120 years old.

January 22, 2015 - Clear lemon color with crisp aromas of white flowers and citrus. On palate more citrus with lemon and grapefruit, some grass, and pronounced mineral flavors, including some ash but maybe knowing it comes from a volcanic region made me think of ash. Clean balanced finish. I enjoy Etna white wines and this is a good representation.
