2008 Bodegas y Viñedos Maurodos Toro Viña San Román
Tinta de Toro
- Castilla y León
Community Tasting Notes 36
November 18, 2016 - ripe and ready
November 13, 2016 - Decanted 2 hours.
Purple black and opaque.
Dark black fruits, vanilla, oak, menthol and green notes.
Brooding ripe black fruits, scorched earth, vanilla, cola spice. Good weight on the mid, full on attack and long finish. Wine is full and present, however Seems flat, maybe past peak, going to open the 09 soon. All the elements are there and integrated but just closed and shut down.

August 15, 2016 - Consistent with my prior note. Not much has changed. Drink now-2020.

July 2, 2016 - Decanted about an hour, through aerator. Dark fruit on the nose and initial taste. Some nice spice, maybe graphite, flavors on the end. A bit smokey. Had with grilled steak, nice pairing. Still has a lot of life left in it, another 5 years easy.
June 24, 2016 - This bottle is past peak- the fruit is no longer ripe and the tannins/acids completely integrated. I'll open my last soon.
