November 15, 2023 - Really nice on the pop and pour and good for about 45 minutes. But then started to fade pretty quick. definitely a drink now wine but holding up fairly well for over 10 years old and some excellent fruit mid palate structure acid finish all good.

September 8, 2023 - The last bottle of the Valdez Zinfandel - and still going strong. Red and dark fruits, spice, some herbs, savory and not sweet. Has lots of life in it - at age 13. Great qpr for my $20 price (in 2018). Delicious with our bbq pork ribs.
I think the winery has gone defunct. If so, that is sad. -

December 26, 2018 - Valdez is not readily available back east so I pick it up whenever I see it. Always reliable, always a good Zin. Fruity without being jammy, the spice notes you expect from Zin, nice structure and medium finish. A bit hot initially, settles down after an hour or so. Decanting helps.
