December 25, 2019 - Just a basic check-in on the wine as we have a few of them. It's still on the young side. Very intense. Harder core tannin. Darker fruits. Brambles. We drank it a bit later in the evening and I wanted something a bit less intense by this point, but hard to expect that of a PS from Napa.

September 6, 2019 - popped and poured. Drank over 3 hours. This is in a really nice place right now. Dark fruits held together with good acidity. Tannin is well integrated. Should drink well for several more years.

July 2, 2019 - Plenty to like here! Big, chewy fruit and tannins tempered by a smooth foundation of granite character. Alcohol is wonderfully in-check and the bouquet is really seductive. Doing exactly what I hope a Petite Sirah will do and one of my favorite reds of the year thus far. 5+13+17+9= 94

September 8, 2016 - Fairly typical PS. In the glass it is dark, nearly black. It isn't as dense as some, but its not thin. On the nose you have dark fruits and alcohol. On the palette, there are blackberries, cassis, and fruit forward jammy grapes with modest tannins that seem well integrated. Medium acidity gives it a little zing. I believe it lacks the complexity or intensity to justify a higher score- but it is a good drinkable PS. Will update if anything significant evolves on night 2.
Update: I had another glass today, two days after opening and I'm increasing my score. Perhaps giving the initial taste more time to breathe would have been a good idea. Its developed additional complexity that is quite nice. Very Bordeaux, with vanilla tones from the oak and dusty tannins contributing to a very nice drink. Its got an average finish, but its very tasty while on the palette.
