April 13, 2024 - Decanted for one hour. Nose of ripe black raspberry, currant, mocha, cedar, anise and dried herbs. Ripe black and red fruit, mocha, crushed rock, cedar, anise, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Very long, layered finish. Medium to full bodied with elegant balance. Drinking beautifully. Served with reverse seared strip steaks and a whisky cream sauce.

January 7, 2024 - Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, currant, cedar, forest floor, anise and dried herbs. Ripe black fruit, anise, cedar, forest floor and dried herbs on the palate. Very long finish with excellent depth. Full bodied. Served with beef Wellington and a green peppercorn cream sauce.

July 3, 2023 - This is a nice To Kalon cabernet that has more of a Black / Red fruited personality. Great dark cherry, clove, allspice and some sappy raspberry notes long in the mouth with good tannin and supple drinkability. Very dense on the palate, and slightly heavy handed with the oak.
The seamless texture and depth of other vintages at Carter (2009 and 2013) are better, and I prefer a more cassis/blueberry fruited expression of To Kalon. Very good, and it is solidly in drinking window.
