January 21, 2023 - Much improved and more accessible than last tasting a few years ago. Paired nicely with seared pork loin and salad. Drink 2023-2030. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

December 25, 2021 - Opened and decanted six hours ahead of grilled filet, seared asparagus, and baked potato for our Christmas feast. Consistent tasting with past notes 2+ years ago, only more herbal, savory, and mint notes are emerging to compliment the deep, juicy, dark fruit. Has a soft, round mouthfeel with thick viscosity and texture which smooths out the tight, compact core. Drink 2022-2030. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

September 13, 2020 - Opened this along with an 09. Both were excellent, with the 09 being just slightly better. Standard Smith Madrone - dark fruit, mineral, just a hint of the Cab Franc in the background. Very delicious and will enjoy the last bottle I have left in a few years

May 10, 2020 - Last bottle, last review of 12-03-2018 summed up nicely. This is at peak and is everything you would ever want from a Napa Cab. Only gave it about 90 minutes breathing and that worked perfectly.
I would drink this year or next, doesn't need much air.
This is Exhibit A as to why aging outstanding red wine pays off.

January 10, 2020 - Big wine. Way better on day 2. More tannin and stuffing in general than other vintages of SM. Great outing
