April 10, 2019 - Pronounced nose, very complex. Could follow on the palate, but doesn't really. Gamey, sweet aftertaste.

November 12, 2016 - Drank with friends around the campfire on the Lost Coast. Everyone loved it - including some first time Madeira tasters. Perfect camping wine! Tasting notes identical to those taken when visiting Justino's/Madeira in February.

June 22, 2016 - This is a beautiful wine that I originally underrated. It is simply delicious. I love the interplay of the tangy berry fruit, the nutty oxidation, and the polished wood notes. I also love how nothing in this wine sticks out; the balance is impeccable. An arguable drawback of tawny ports is that they tend to overwhelm with dried dark fruit; there is no such sensation in this low-key wine.

At around $30, this wine is a wonderful value. Madeira more generally has won my affection.
