April 12, 2024 - This was a lovely bottle of wine - aromatically, on the palate and through a long finish. I think it is at or nearing its peak.
As would be expected, this wine was clearly dark fruit - rich and very enjoyable with just that perfect hint of sweetness. It was smooth and luscious on the palate. The tannins were nicely integrated. It threw a lot of sediment, but that did not impact the wine in any way.
Thankfully, this was not our last bottle.
    Way to go Randy Lewis!

    November 1, 2022 - WOW!!!
This wine was stunning in every way and very much improved over the last 4.5 years.
It was very rich, smooth, balanced, great depth, a lovely fragrant nose, beautiful dark fruit, mouth-coating and teeth-staining and a bit "chewy" (all only in the best sense), and a finish that brought everyone back for more.
It clearly was the WOTN even considering the quality of its competition - an excellent 2001 Grand-Puy-Lacoste and a remarkable 2010 Ken Wright Abbott Claim Pinot.
The Lewis was just one more example of the enjoyment that CA Cabernets provide when you are patient.

July 24, 2020 - 8h after decant. Red cherries, lemon, coffee, and hint of herbs on the nose. Crushed blueberries, dark bitter chocolate and coffee on the palate. Definitely full bodied and big. Took another hour or so (9h after decant) to come into better balance with more acids coming through. Medium+ tannins on midpalate. Not really my style. On day 2, ripe cherries and ripe blueberries, plums, and some bitter chocolate and earth. Alcohol really sticks out on the finish. 87+ on day 1 and 84 on day 2.

May 25, 2018 - Everything about this wine was in harmony. Been a long time since I’ve had a Napa wine that I’ve enjoyed at its most peak drinking window. Still quite full bodied...blind, would have guessed MAYBE ‘07-‘08. Blue fruit, cassis, nutmeg and shaved cocoa powder on the nose. Palate was mainly dark chocolate dates, blue and black fruit fruit, baking spice, and a supremely delicious finish. If you have this, no rush to open, but you are missing out on its most prime drinking window. Total treat.
