February 20, 2022 - No decant. Deep ruby in color. The nose is muted and required lots of coaxing to emerge. Coffee beans, black pepper, menthol and hints of leather is all I could make out. The palate is thin- light bodied, and short finish, but the tannins are present. Not much on the palate- red berries, truffles. Perhaps more will show with time, but not much happening here.

October 6, 2021 - A rather uninspiring wine. A bit unbalanced, backward and somehow rustic. Tannic structure tends to dominate this pretty light-bodied wine in which alcohol comes through too prominently. It clearly lacks elegance, and purity of fruit, and has a lean and acidic texture. This Palmer falls short of expectations indeed.

June 23, 2018 - A mix of red and black fruit with slightly piquant spice. Hopefully this will unwind but at the moment, it's difficult to find much of the classic Palmer drive and floral elegance that makes me buy it so compulsively. Of course, 5 years old is a difficult time to taste claret, so a 90ish score is a rough impression. We shall see.

April 6, 2018 - Bordeaux Trip 2018; 4/5/2018-4/6/2018 (Bordeaux, Fr): Some baking spices and forest floor. Lighter in color and in concentration. Alcohol coming through on the palate. A bit of cherry on the palate. Not a great representation of Palmer.
