November 17, 2020 - Expected a lot from this as I really like Barbera, and Chiara Boschis being a winemaker with excellent reputation.

What I got here is simply horrible. Most of it consists of aggressive acidity, complemented by all kinds of strange things.

Tried it on three consecutive days, it was different on all days but equally undrinkable on all of them. I very rarely spill wine - here it had no alternative.

Possibly a flawed bottle (though certainly not corked), but I will not spend money to find out.

September 21, 2016 - Deep nose. Almonds. Dark cherries. Good balance. Best after 2 hours.

August 16, 2016 - Pleasant and fruity. Good summer red. A bit of heat on the finish.

February 8, 2016 - The nose showed pretty red floral and cherry notes with hints of dusty spice and undergrowth. On the palate, I found soft textures with mouthwatering acidity delivering notes of cherry, strawberry and inner floral tones. It finished on bright red fruits and gripping acidity. It’s a food wine for sure, but I can think of nothing better to pair with anything in red sauce.

December 1, 2015 - E.Pira & figli barbera d'Alba superiore 2012.
