February 26, 2010 - Medium ruby, wide pale cherry rim. Medium intensity nose with red cherry fruit, spice and tea leaf notes. Medium full on the palate, nice initial entry with some reasonably generous red cherry fruit, attractive floral notes and tea leaves giving decent compelxity, but some frankly firm, slightly spiky tannins start to take over on the mid-palate and medium length, dry finish. This does have attractive fresh acidity not to mention decent complexity, with a touch of aniseed and some brown sugar sweetness on the finish, but those tannins, which are immedaitely obvious, become a little wearing after the first glass or so. No more than good and I don't think it has the depth of fruit to improve from here - indeed it was possibly better in its youth.

December 10, 2007 - Except perhaps for a bit of length this would be excellent barolo - the great aromas and fruit on the palate - but the most incredible definition and acidity. Really lovely - see my previous notes for description. Really excellent.

November 5, 2007 - Lovely bright cherry, clear. Beguiling nose, heady & aromatic; tea, jasmine, blackcurrant. Gorgeous palate: Rapier-like acidity, lovely fruit. Great length. Excellent wine.

October 30, 2007 - Deep but clear plum. Almonds, red fruit and lovely sweetness on the nose. Piercing acidity then good fruit on the palate, great length. Cleansing, complex... I'd be happy if this was Barolo. Ex.

July 28, 2007 - A little concerned right off when I noticed that this wine lacked the orange-hue that nebbiolo usually has. This wine needs to aerate for a while to let the alcohol blow off, which dominates on the nose when first opening. After that it opens up with some strawberry aromas. On the palate, this wine is a bit thin and light with flavors of cherry, cranberry and finishing off with a bit of black tea. Though not a "bad" wine, it really lacked the nebbiolo qualities that make me like this grape so much. It tasted like it could have been made out of something else.
