January 13, 2023 - Borderline perfect. For the price this is amazing. I think this wine has some bret that took considerable time to blow off. This wine is very much alive but packed with fruit in an in between state of dried and fresh. Smoke, cocao, herbs and Marciano cherries just a lovely effort. The finish lasts a good half minute. Yum.

April 10, 2020 - barral's entry cuvée, still going strong after 9 years. garrigue herbs, black pepper and red fruits in the nose. "fresh" body of crunchy red fruit, acidity and minerality. mellow tannins. medium plus finish. taste profile somewhere between Burundian finesse and Mediterranean generosity.

March 10, 2019 - PnP a touch then slow O and consumed over the next 8 hours in OR Pinot glasses.

Last noted in 2014, this wine even more composed at this point.

Still a dark eggplant with the beginnings of a brown hue, the aromas are nicely pronounced. Savory and sweaty with a background of purple fruits on the nose. The palate surprises with slightly crunchy red and blue fruited notes that segue into a little leather and brewers yeast on the finish. I actually really like the flavors and pronounced acidity at this point.
A few hours later the wine remains composed if gaining in weight and intensity. Juicy and savory, melding darker fruits, minerals and acid in almost equal measure.
Day two- the dark purple fruits and brewer’s yeast show up in spades with a healthy dose of acid on the finish.

August 27, 2018 - Wow .. either this was a one off bottle or these just needed some time but another great improvement over the previous bottle drank some time ago.
