February 9, 2006 - Clear red core of moderate- intensity progressing out to a wide red edge and thin watery rim. Little development indicated. Clean nose of moderate+ intensity of cloves, mint and some dark cherry fruit. Quite closed nose shows little development. Dry wine with soft fruit and sweet moderate flavours of cloves and red cherries on a moderate body. Moderate acidity is present but balanced by the fruit. Tannins are moderate and soft with moderate alcohol. Finish is medium to long and shows good fruit along with a bit of alcohol heat. This is a very good quality wine that is currently very youthful but has everything there to mature beautifully. All is in balance so give it 5-8 years to fully mature and look for it to last for 15.
