January 12, 2017 - Still quite good. Decanted this bottle about a half-hour before pouring, and didn't notice the astringency quite as much. Still not much nose, just a faint hint of spice, but the good fruit remains. Paired well this time with inexpensive carryout Italian.

December 17, 2016 - N: Closed; Notes of spice with overtones of cherries?

P: Med body; Almost swtish cherry frt on the front, lingering nicely, though seemingly drying on the finish. (Flavors quite like the N.)

Addendum: At least with respect to the N, I probably should have decanted as I'd suggested doing in my TN of 7/1/2016.

    December 4, 2016 - Private Preserve after Day 1

N: Closed (poss faded?); Some roses? A touch of spice?

P: LM, poss Med, body; Almost swtish frt on the finish, though with notes of acidity; Lingering, pleasant (albeit poss slightly oxidized?) finish.
// Day 2: No significant differences

    Addendum: Also tasted on 3/1, 7/1, & 12/17/16.

July 9, 2016 - Feels like it's still holding its own. Did notice some astringency at the start, but seems to have softened while sitting in the decanter (and glasses.) Still getting nice dark fruit.

July 1, 2016 - Drunk over 2 days. P 'n P'd day 1: NO nose, only the briefest sensation of fruit, QUICKLY morphing into an astringent finish. However, by Day 2 more fruit was showing -- & though still present, the astringency had GREATLY resolved. Therefore: 1) We'll decant at LEAST the next of our remaining 2 bottles; 2) We're looking to drink both sooner rather than later as I'm guessing this is on the decline.
