October 26, 2023 - 5 X 5 X 5 -- Brut Nature (Astrid's House): October 2021 disgorgement, which gives the wine about 10 years on the lees, a big number for sure. 2010 base, with perpetual blended in of 50%, using wines back to 2007. No dosage. About half of the wine is Petit Meslier, and the rest equal parts Arbanne and Pinot Blanc. This has a clear citrus profile that shows a tart edge. Pink grapefruit and kumquat come through for me. The finish is a little green/astringent. Retasted the wine with the final few ounces today. It's a distinct wine, with an entry of creaminess that is cool and delicious, and then wham, the citrusy tart comes in and takes over the finish. So, less about balance and more about a tale of 2 tastes. Interesting.

May 26, 2014 - A new project t by Benoit Tarlant which will be available in the next year. It is a Blanc de Blanc, using white grapes allowed in Champage but not chardonnay i.e. Pinot Blanc, Arbane & Petit Meslier. The one we tasted was grapes from 2007 & 2008. Zero dosage.
Quite sharp acidity with flavours of honey, white pepper, bread and red apples. Very interesting and one I will definitely look out for in the future.
