A pleasure to try something so old which had been stored beautifully since release. Slightly fading with tertiary notes. Lovely.

July 28, 2016 - A beautiful wine at slightly past its peak but there was so much to like here, who cares? Soft and silky, with the patina of age in the color and the nose, the texture caressed your palate, and the fresh, sweet, spicy, earthy, red fruits tasted and felt great! Popped and poured, I would not hold this any longer.

February 27, 2016 - Rare Wine Dinners: Bordeaux 1921-1975 (Bentley Restaurant, private dining room): This wine is typically 80% Merlot, 20% Cab Franc. So floral. Classic Bordeaux nose too - cassis, cedar, tobacco. The palate is medium bodied, with sweet fruit. It's lush, fragrant with perfumed intensity. Perfectly weighted. With time, it delivers some chocolate mint. Lovely, mature Bordeaux, which held up well in the glass over 20-30 minutes.

October 24, 2015 - Académie des Cinquante 60th Annual Dinner (Restaurant De Echoput, Hoog Soeren, Netherlands): Mature but lively appearance for a 60 year old; pure and fresh, fragrant, mature and elegant, bright tannins, vestiges of berry fruit, hint of nuts, cold tea, spices, flowers, complete, retains light tannic grip, relaxed, lovely hint of sweetness; slightly pinched finish, good length. Yet another good bottle, wonderful for age.

March 7, 2015 - 1st Vivino Int'l chapter in Singapore (Sat. afternoon), Part-1 (Bok's place): Very much well and alive! This was really an experience - it's not everyday that one has a 60-yr old wine! This still had a lot of life in it. Incredible nose... smoke, lots of tea-leaves. Fresh and lifted on the palate, with somewhat sweet fruit delivered in a very elegant package. Wow!
