May 20, 2015 - Vintage Select Industry Tasting - Firehouse in the Heights: Nose of black raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, vanilla, hints of plum. On the palate, rich with blueberry, vanilla, black raspberry, and pepper. Slightly hot on the finish but not overwhelmed by alcohol. Very nice.

February 20, 2015 - Pop and poured. Nose was blackberries, blueberries, maybe a hint of alcohol in the back of the nose. Similar berries on the palette, with maybe a hint of cinnamon. Didn't evolve much in the glass but drinking very nicely at the moment. Well balanced and definitely a crowd pleaser. Excited for my two other bottles.

October 13, 2014 - Quite stout blackberry nose with a touch of an acerbic something—maybe, alcohol. Terrific blackberry and earthy flavors flow over the tongue. This is a very fat wine, but the fruit is roped in by earthiness and tannin. So, there is no jamminess at all. This is the second one of these that I’ve had (one more to go) and, while I don’t really have any sensory memory of the first bottle, I do remember that it was a great wine. This second taste confirms that summary.

July 22, 2014 - Very pleasant nose announcing a “brambly” type of zin. Sure enough, nice blackberry on the tip of the tongue followed by sharp tartness as from a plum. Very obvious, but not overwhelming drying tannins. A pleasant finish that fades in a very nice diminuendo.
