April 10, 2017 - The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like honey, damascus, nuts, almond, and raisin. It tastes like raisin, damascus, nuts, almond and honey. The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

October 8, 2013 - A blend of Welschriesling (80%) aged in old 1000-liter oak casks and Chardonnay (20%) aged in small French oak barrels. Bottled after 20 months of oak aging. 11,5% alcohol. 195,2 g/l residual sugar and 7,2 g/l acidity.

Slightly whisky-like yellow color with faint copper highlights. Really high viscosity. Very intense, complex and attractive nose with powerful honey aromas, waxy botrytis notes, some apple purée and a little smoke with underlying hints of cumin-driven exotic spices and a touch of mushrooms. On the palate the wine feels really intensively sweet, viscous and sticky, all thanks to the high (190 g/l) residual sugar. There are powerful flavors of white syrup, honey, fruit salad syrup, dried tropical fruits, juicy honeydew melon, some smoke and integrated oaky spice. The acidity feels moderate - not enough to make the wine feel fresh, but well enough to make it feel very balanced and structured. The finish is very sticky and powerful with intense flavors of honeyed richness and flavors of lemon marmalade, saline minerality, some exotic spices and a hint of mushrooms.

A spectacular TBA; this is like two of their wonderful Beerenauslese Cuvée wines crammed into one bottle! Especially the pure intensity of the midpalate is tremendous. Even though the wine is stunning right now, a dessert wine showing this much concentration is all about aging potential; opening a bottle this young is comparable to infanticide! Age for a few decades, let it breathe for a few moments and serve well-cooled. Good value at 43,80€ for a 375 ml bottle.

March 30, 2012 - Deep golden yellow color. Honeyed nose of melon fruit. Taste of pea,r honeycomb, and melon. Very well balanced. Elegant finish with a spicy minerality.
