March 9, 2024 - Enjoying a terrific bottle of the 2010 Mount Eden Estate Chardonnay tonight. For my money, this is a great chard and right up there at the very top of the New World white pantheon. It may have shed some richness over the years, but this is still fresh as a daisy and filled with lemony energy. A touch of pear on the nose is the only overt ripeness here but this still has a layered depth of lemon oil and body that gives it heft. Terrific and probably at point.

September 2, 2022 - Golden honey color. Complex and youthful. Will hold last bottle for a few years.
Expect to gain weight and become rich, viscous. Served with grilled halibut.

March 29, 2022 - Medium gold. On the nose, lovely notes of marmalade, toast, orange blossoms, a hint of vanilla. Dried peach on the palate, along with the peach's pits, concentrated figgy fruit, medium+ acids which combine with the fruit to give a lovely winding sweet and sour character, medium+ body, medium+ alcohol (14.2%), very long finish with lovely mature oak back notes. Lovely to see one of my favorite Chardonnays moving into old age.

February 11, 2022 - Purchased directly from the winery years ago, cellared in ideal conditions. No signs of oxidization, not over the hill by any reputable standard! Plenty of energy and acidity, delightful with food and on its own. Tasted over several hours.

December 3, 2020 - Generous aroms of honeyed fruit, beeswax, and sourdough toast. Gravid fruit on the palate contained in a lace of gold acid. A lovely soul-satisfying aperitif wine.
