March 2, 2024 - 4th time I have had this wine. This is made from 25 year old vines. Most of the grapes were whole cluster pressed. Aged in 1/3 new Cadus oak barrels and 2/3 used Freres oak barrels. Crimson color. This was holding up very well. Cherry notes with plum and tobacco. The tannins are well integrated. This is in a really good spot right now. 92 points.

May 12, 2018 - This is the best Michigan Pinot Noir I've tasted, better than Jim's 2012 vintage imo. Black cherry, medium body, nice balance with medium finish.

September 11, 2017 - Great Warehouse Tasting (Chicago, IL): Tasting, brief note. More black vs red cherry with some roasted meat notes. Moderate weight and length, with good+ balance. Good now.

July 6, 2017 - Another Wyncroft Winery Visit; 7/5/2017-7/6/2017 (Pullman, Michigan): Tsted from bottle at the winery. 3rd time I have had this wine and the best showing yet. This is evolving into a very pretty wine. Ruby garnet color. Good tannins structure. Medium bodied. Rather burgundian in style. Notes of cherries, black raspberry and wet earth. Gone are the cola and tart notes that I tasted when this was in barrel and just bottled. 90-91 points.

September 1, 2015 - 2015 Wyncroft Winery Visit (Michigan) (7 potentially 90+ wines with 1 classic 95 pointer); 8/29/2015-9/1/2015 (Wyncroft Winery, South Haven, Michigan): Tasted from an unlabelled bottle at the winery. This was bottled on June 18th and has not been released. 2013 was a warm year but the growing conditions were not as ideal as 2012. This was more tannic and tasted like it had more acid than the 2012. Aged in 1/3 new Cadus oak barrels and 2/3 used Freres oak barrels. 2nd time i have had this wine. Gone was the sulfur, cola and tart notes that the barrel sample had a year ago. Nice round texture now. A little heat or alcohol on the nose which should subside with more bottle age. This had a fleshy mouthfeel with notes of burnt cherry, chocolate and berries. This should be a longer lived wine than the 2012. 88+ points.
