August 14, 2015 - PNP. Not as nuanced as I was expecting but tasty nonetheless. Classic barbera favors of smome and earth. Nice pairing with pizza at Numero 28 in NYC.

February 21, 2015 - As others have said, this is a great wine for everyday drinking. Blackberries, blueberry jam, and sweet vanilla on the nose, so typical of a young Barbera. A bit flashier/more "international" in style than I expected given De Forville's typical rustic house style, but that didn't bother me, especially as we drank it while eating agnolotti del plin—a classic Piedmontese pairing. Slightly sour and earthy on the finish. What a fantastic value at $15 a bottle. Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3.

February 14, 2015 - Great food wine. I drinked this at a friends house, in the hills of Langhe, Piedmont, with "Carne Cruda Piemontese" and Foccacia.
aromas are very juice like, like blackcurrant juice, pretty straightforward.
Also intensive red fruite taste on the palate. Sweetish almost. Good accidity, medium tannins. -

January 26, 2015 - I saved 3/4s of this for another night. Tonight it came across a bit sharp edged and unfriendly. No fun. 2 nights later this improved substantially, becoming more harmonious and balanced. This is not a fruit bomb. Rather it trades on spice and savory earthiness. Still taunt prickly acidity. Best with food. Needs lots of air.

January 22, 2015 - What he said...there's a touch of sour to this (just a touch!) that makes it so juicy and fun to drink, and it pairs wonderfully with food, all things Barbera should be. A bit less round and generous than the previous couple of vintages, more mineral-forward, which is not a bad thing at all. Very tasty and moreish.
