Community Tasting Notes 7

September 1, 2023 - Continues on its journey to being the most ridiculous QPR in the whole land of grenache. Finally accessible on the PnP, but it really opens up on day two. It is light and floral and licorice-adjacent. Beginning to wonder if it will outlast me. EDIT: If you want a treat, take a bite of a date and then give tihs a taste. It makes the aftertaste echo onward.

February 20, 2021 - Bandaids for the first hour, but after two hours it becomes its own light, transcendent thing. And after 3 hours it’s magnificent. I believe it will keep aging. Edit: Day Two? Whole new ballgame. Far better than on day one. It's light and complex and floral and cherried, but also it's really young. I have once or twice compared this to Bonneau CdP, which I know isn't quite right, but it's also not quite wrong. Day Three: still going. Still complex and floral, if a little soft.

November 22, 2020 - I am in post-Covid. My sense of smell seems unaffected but my tastebuds are like an out-of-tune instrument. Tonight I opened this and was immediately charmed by the Henri Bonneau nose. The taste was weird, and I think has nothing to do with the wine. It was ashy, disjointed and then...flat. I switched to a 2002 Leoville Poyferré, whch was great, and then came back to this 4 hours later. Totally different experience. Cherry. Subtle licorice. Strong tannins. Understated complexities. I am understanding with every sip that this is going to last a while. It's a great secret wine.

March 17, 2017 - Way lighter in color and taste than anticipated, which was disappointing. Taste was fine but not great.
