Community Tasting Notes 8

March 8, 2015 - Rich deep gold. Sherry and nutty aromas. Sweet, crunchy, very slight bitterness. Hazelnut flavors. Lacks some acidity, otherwise very good/delicious.

March 1, 2015 - Similar to previous bottle. A bit on the sweet side for a Pinot Gris, but decent enough acidity to not seem flabby. Tasty and food friendly, but almost more reminiscent of a typical German off-dry Riesling than an Alsace Pinot Gris.

January 12, 2015 - Bottle purchased at winery upon release and cellared since. Typical for the vintage, ripe with low acid. A bit out of balance tasting too sweet for the finish. Full bodied with a lingering finish, but not one that makes it better. Caramel notes. Muted aromatics. I should have drunk it younger but I keep avoiding my 2003's from Alsace.

October 4, 2014 - Just a touch of sweetness. Caramel notes and maybe just a bit soft on the acidity.

July 18, 2014 - Disappointing, but I am starting to question the storage conditions this came from. Pale color, faint aromas of green apple, faint flora aromas, lots of spice/oak on the nose but very shy. Acid and spice on the palate. Drink up.
