  August 19, 2016 - Getting a little long in the tooth, which is surprising. PnP, no decant. Aromas of berries, a bit of earth, no green. Tannins have integrated nicely, but the fruit has attenuated quite a bit. This definitely qualifies as, "old Napa cab." Truly a shame because the 99 was a tannic rock on release and though 17 years isn't young I thought it was more for the long haul.

  July 11, 2015 - cork had bled a little....decanted for 45 mins. still deep purple with a little fading. Strong cassis and cherry core fruit still present, spice...strong tannins a little out of balance. This could go 5+ years longer.

  January 14, 2008 - Pop and pour. Beautiful classic nose of currant, blackberry, licorice, smoke, tobacco, pencil lead, and cedar. Fully resolved tannins. Seamless and pleasurable. Long if slightly dusty finish. Excellent with food.

  September 29, 2007 - 1.5L mag. Decanted 2 hours. Phenomenal rich nose. Bright high toned fruit. Light dusty finish. Spectator's "black cherry / intense and concentrated" is not at all there.
