February 4, 2015 - Reunion Dinner in DC (Red Hen - Washington, DC): Not something you see everyday...this was a real treat to try. I got to this wine a bit later in the night than others did, but the aromatics were gorgeous and rustic. Think very pure Loire Pinot Noir with beautiful floral notes, ripe red fruits, and earth. The palate wasn't as expressive as its aromas, and I think this lacked a bit on the mid-palate. Tons of character, though, and a style of wine that is hard to come by these days.
