November 15, 2014 - Lovely, clear wine, heavy sediment at the bottom. Eased the cork out with an "ah-so" and avoided getting any in the wine, even though it fell apart. Unbranded cork and red (not lead) foil.
Wine was pleasant to drink and had good balance - definitely showing its 61 years of age though, and was browning, but held a decent amount of redness. Had with duck breast in spicy sauce, which complimented it well.
Worthwhile drinking, but more so because of its price of £5 from an antiques shop. Hope to get some more bottles from this supplier, who had got it in a house clearance of a late doctor.
